Peter Obi Sounds Governorship Battle Cry in Imo State
The Labour Party's presidential torchbearer Peter Obi blazed a trail through Imo State, rallying supporters and serving Governor Hope Uzodimma an election eve eviction notice. Obi headlined the LP's Imo governorship campaign launch, trumpeted candidate Senator Athan Achonu as Uzodimma's successor.

A carnival atmosphere filled Owerri as Obi and his high-powered entourage took the stage. In a rousing speech, Obi urged citizens to vote out the incumbent governor and usher in the Achonu era this coming November 11.

"Start preparing to vacate the Government House," Obi warned Uzodimma. "The election of the LP in Imo will end misgovernance."

Obi downplayed rumors of party infighting and multiple contenders, affirming Achonu as the sole gubernatorial nominee. He praised the transparent selection process that produced Achonu as the candidate best poised to lead Imo into a new progressive future.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State also testified to chairing Achonu's undisputed primary victory. Otti touted the Labour Party's track record of good governance and people-focused policies.

When his turn came, Senator Achonu outlined his vision for transforming Imo through local government elections, infrastructure fixes, pension improvements, and ending insecurity. He promised staffers prompt pay and a ceasefire to the state's bloody power struggles.

"Vote LP and things will start happening," Obi roused the enthusiastic crowds. With the opposition served notice and anticipation building, the stage is set for an epic electoral showdown in Imo State this November. All eyes on the voters who will decide the next phase of the state's destiny.
