A businessman from Abia State, met with a tragic end, on thursday, October 12, 2023. Akuma Kalu, while en route to the Port Harcourt International Airport had a devastating accident which occurred in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. Where a 40ft container fell from a truck, fatally crushing Akuma Kalu's car. His demise has left family and friends in deep mourning.

Late Kalu, originally from Abariba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, was a well-known importer based in Umuogele Ovom, near Magic FM. He was also an active member of the Umuogele Landlords Association in Aba, Abia State.

The family has been struck by tragedy once again, as Akuma's elder brother, Uchendu Kalu, shared in a heartfelt Facebook post on Sunday, October 15. He lamented the loss of not only his younger brother but also their father, who had passed away almost six years prior. The pain of losing two beloved family members has left their hearts heavy and their souls in mourning. May their spirits rest in peace.
