Baby Found Abandoned in Osun, Search for Parents

Authorities in Osun State, Nigeria seeks urgent public assistance to identify the family of a heartbreaking discovery - an infant abandoned on the day of his birth.

The baby boy, named Temitope Daniel by officials, was found wrapped in a cardboard box along a roadside in the Dagbolu neighborhood of Ikirun town. A good Samaritan resident alerted police after noticing the box at Zone B Area location.

Despite extensive efforts, the child welfare team from the State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs has yet to uncover any leads on his origins. They hope bringing wider attention to young Temitope's situation may finally lead to answers.

Government bulletins implore anyone with knowledge of a recent pregnancy that may have secretly ended in the newborn's relinquishment to come forward in confidence. The foremost goal is reuniting Temitope with parental care and his rightful family ties.

Yet if no relatives are identified, the local community stands ready to provide sanctuary and compassion through the uncertainty. The essence is ensuring this innocent child left so vulnerably on his first day in this world will now be embraced with the dignity, nurture and protections that all people deserve.
