Tinubu Urges Envoys to Prioritize New Investments, And Trade Expansion

PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES AMBASSADORS, MANDATES THEM TO FOCUS ON NEW INVESTMENT AND TRADE EXPANSION

While receiving the credentials of three newly-arrived ambassadors on Friday, President Bola Tinubu outlined priorities for them to focus on boosting trade and securing new investments.

Meeting the envoys from Hungary, Rwanda and Ukraine at the State House, the President provided assurances to continuing foreign investors that outstanding challenges around profit repatriation and unclear tax policies will be resolved expeditiously under his leadership.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we are already working on the issues of double taxation, and it will be properly streamlined to favour business growth. Nigeria is home and a haven for investors,” Tinubu declared.

Addressing Rwanda’s High Commissioner Christophe Bazivamo specifically, the President affirmed kinship ties between both countries and committed to enabling freer travel through improved visa arrangements. He asked Bazivamo to pave the way for stronger bilateral partnerships.

On engaging Hungary, Tinubu asked Ambassador Lorand Endreffy to leverage his country's world-class agriculture industry, food security innovations and advanced technologies to deepen cooperation. Endreffy highlighted education, medicine and technical skills development as areas of shared interest.

Welcoming Ukraine Envoy Ivan Kholostenko, Tinubu pledged Nigeria's unwavering prayers and support for Ukrainian sovereignty, while amplifying calls for global unity.

The President underlined his open door policy for continued investments in Africa's largest economy, with Foreign Minister and Chief of Staff also actively assisting prospective entrants.

“We will continue to promote democracy and good governance. I will maintain an open-door policy,” Tinubu affirmed to the diplomats.

The credential ceremony was facilitated by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President.
